About the role
Reeson Education are recruiting for an experienced, compassionate and enthusiastic SEND Teacher to join a fantastic specialist SEND school in the SK14 area. This is a full-time, long-term SEND Teacher opportunity starting as soon as possible, teaching pupils across KS2 and KS3 within a highly supportive, well-resourced and welcoming specialist setting.
This rewarding SEND Teacher role offers the opportunity to teach small classes of pupils with a wide range of additional needs, allowing you to deliver highly personalised learning and build strong, positive relationships with every child. The successful SEND Teacher will work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team to create engaging lessons that help every pupil achieve their full potential.
The school supports pupils with a variety of complex needs, including Autism (ASD), communication and interaction needs, learning difficulties, sensory needs, and associated additional needs. They are looking for a calm, adaptable and committed SEND Teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and enjoys helping children succeed both academically and personally.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across KS2 and KS3.
- Create an inclusive learning environment where every pupil can thrive.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual EHCP targets and learning needs.
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants and specialist staff to maximise pupil progress.
- Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation and independence.
- Monitor, assess and record pupil progress, adapting planning where appropriate.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
- Promote positive behaviour through consistency, patience and encouragement.
- Maintain high expectations whilst providing personalised support.
- Uphold safeguarding procedures and contribute positively to the wider school community.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Previous experience teaching children with SEND or within a specialist setting is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of differentiated teaching and inclusive practice.
- Excellent behaviour management and communication skills.
- Patient, resilient and adaptable approach to teaching.
