Sports Teaching Assistant required in Islington School to support the delivery of PE and Sports for Secondary pupils with ADHD, behaviour, and mental health needs. Pay is negotiable.

The TA for Sports will lead and support PE lessons, teaching a wide range of learning needs throughout the school. You will be working with secondary-aged pupils who have special needs, requiring a talented coach to adapt lessons and be flexible and creative in lesson planning for Physical Education.
You will teach Sports, Movement, and the Physical Education Curriculum designed for students who face barriers to learning, many of whom may have been excluded from their previous schools due to poor behaviour. You will encourage students to explore their sporting skills while emphasising soft skills in Sports such as Team Work and Discipline, which can help these students in their wider schooling.
You must be a positive and energetic leader, able to engage with children and form positive relationships. Being a role model who provides good guidance to these young people is essential for achieving more positive outcomes in their studies.
This School is located in Barking with excellent transport links, providing education to children aged 4 - 16 years with complex special needs including Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties, and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. The team works together to provide students with a safe and secure learning environment, managing behaviour effectively and helping students make above-average progress.
The facilities at this School are excellent, including sensory rooms and a hydrotherapy swimming pool.
