Fantastic Grade 1 Ofsted 11‐18 School seeks a Science Tutor to support students most in need via the National Tutoring Program. The position involves inspiring, motivating, and increasing attainment and participation in core science subjects.
Responsibilities
- Work with school staff to identify and select students for mentoring.
- Discuss aims of mentoring with pupils and agree on action plans.
- Provide support to pupils inside and outside of the classroom.
- Make occasional home visits to talk to parents about challenges and offer advice on strategies.
- Liaise with schools, teachers, social workers and educational psychologists, making referrals where appropriate.
- Aide pupils in the transition to secondary education.
- Help pupils increase confidence and self‐esteem by listening and devising appropriate strategies.
Qualifications
- Science graduate or science teacher required.
- Candidates should be passionate about working with young people and desire to mentor on a 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 basis, focusing on raising attainment, participation, confidence, and self‐esteem.
