We are recruiting a qualified and experienced Baby Room Leader for a school-based nursery in Barnet (N12). This role is not suitable for unqualified candidates or those without baby room experience. You will lead a small team of 2 practitioners in a busy baby room (9-18 months), ensuring high standards of care, learning, and safeguarding.

Do Not Apply If:

  • You do NOT hold a full and relevant CACHE Level 3 (or equivalent)
  • You have no experience working in a nursery or baby room
  • You are not confident leading a room or taking responsibility for staff

Essential Requirements (Non-Negotiable):

  • CACHE Level 3 Diploma (or full & relevant equivalent in Early Years)
  • Minimum 1-2 years nursery experience, ideally with babies
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework
  • Experience with observations, assessments, and key person responsibilities
  • Confident in supporting or leading other staff

Your Role:

  • Lead the day-to-day running of the baby room
  • Manage and support a team of 2 practitioners
  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate EYFS activities
  • Track children's development through observations and learning journeys
  • Act as a key person, building relationships with parents
  • Ensure safeguarding, health & safety, and welfare standards are met at all times
