This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting pupils with complex learning, emotional, and behavioural needs. The Level 3 Teaching Assistant will play a key role in supporting pupils aged 5-11 who have experienced trauma, display challenging behaviours, and require a calm, consistent, and structured learning environment. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and the wider support team to help every child achieve personal and academic success. About the Level 3 Teaching Assistant role: Provide daily support to pupils with social, emotional, and communication needs. Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons. Lead small group and one-to-one intervention sessions to target key areas of learning and behaviour. Step in to lead the class when required, following plans and maintaining routines. Encourage positive relationships, emotional regulation, and resilience among pupils. Implement behaviour support strategies with empathy, patience, and professionalism. Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to track pupil progress and adapt support strategies. The ideal Level 3 Teaching Assistant will have a strong understanding of the barriers faced by children with complex needs and will be committed to helping each child thrive through encouragement, consistency, and creativity. Requirements for the Level 3 Teaching Assistant: Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential). Experience supporting pupils with complex needs, trauma, ASD, ADHD, or SEMH. Confident in leading small groups and stepping up to lead classes when required. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Positive attitude, resilience, and a passion for inclusive education.
