A mainstream primary school in Middlesbrough is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work on a full-time basis, providing targeted support to a Year 4 pupil with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and behavioural needs. This role requires a calm, resilient, and consistent practitioner who can support both learning and emotional regulation, helping the pupil to access the curriculum and remain positively engaged throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support within the classroom
- Support the implementation of strategies to manage behaviour and emotional regulation
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and external professionals
- Support academic progress and social development
- Maintain clear communication with the school team regarding progress and concerns
- Follow all safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly ASD and ADHD
- Experience managing or supporting behavioural needs in a primary setting
- A patient, consistent, and proactive approach
- Ability to commit to a full-time, long-term role from January
- A clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities within schools
