A caring and inclusive primary school in Islington is seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Key Stage 2 pupil with severe Autism. Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day
- Support a KS2 pupil with severe Autism to engage with learning activities
- Implement strategies to support communication, emotional regulation and positive behaviour
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals
- Adapt activities and resources to meet the pupil's individual needs
- Encourage independence, confidence and social interaction where appropriate
- Support transitions and maintain a structured, predictable learning environment

- Strong understanding of Autism and associated communication and sensory needs

- Ability to follow support plans and work collaboratively with school staff and parents
