We are currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH secondary school in the Tameside (OL6) area. This Teaching Assistant role is full-time and long-term, starting immediately, with the potential to become permanent for the right Teaching Assistant.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be working within a small SEMH class or supporting a pupil on a 1:1 basis. The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant who can provide consistency, structure, and emotional support to pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

The successful Teaching Assistant will be responsible for supporting pupils across the school day, helping them to regulate emotions, engage with learning, and develop positive behaviour. This Teaching Assistant role requires patience, resilience, and a calm, confident approach.

Key responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant include:

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs within the classroom
  • Working 1:1 as a Teaching Assistant with pupils who require targeted support
