Reeson Education are seeking a skilled Humanities Teacher to work in a focused and supportive school environment in Sheffield (S5) starting from September 2026. This role is ideal for a teacher who can deliver structured and engaging Humanities lessons while maintaining high expectations and supporting students to achieve their full potential.
About the Humanities Teacher Role
As a Humanities Teacher, you will deliver high-quality Humanities lessons across a range of abilities, helping pupils build confidence, critical thinking skills, and a strong understanding of subjects such as History, Geography, and Religious Education. You will maintain clear routines, encourage positive behaviour, and create a productive learning environment that supports academic success.
Key Responsibilities as Humanities Teacher
- Structured Humanities Teaching: Deliver engaging and well-planned Humanities lessons tailored to student needs.
- Classroom Management: Maintain positive behaviour, routines, and high expectations within the classroom.
- Targeted Support: Provide additional guidance and intervention to support student progress and attainment.
- Progress Monitoring: Assess, monitor, and track pupil achievement and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teaching staff, parents, and school leaders to support student development.
To Succeed as a Humanities Teacher, You Will Need
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Humanities within mainstream, SEN, SEMH, or alternative provision settings is desirable.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- A positive, organised, and resilient approach to teaching.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply through Reeson Education.
