A high-performing independent therapeutic school in Ealing, West London is seeking a committed and compassionate Horticulture Teacher with a strong track record of good or outstanding teaching who has a passionate focus on supporting students with emotional and behavioural needs. The role: Horticulture Teacher

  • Full responsibility for delivering Horticulture Teacher duties at BTECs level
  • Form tutor responsibility for 5 pupils delivering PSHE
  • Providing engaging and relatable lessons that chime with students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs to encourage them to access learning in and out of the classroom
  • Implement behaviour support strategies under the guidance of the SLT and pastoral team
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students, acting as a consistent and trusted adult
  • Work to develop students' emotional literacy, resilience, and social skills
  • Collaborate with TAs, therapy teams, parents/carers, and external agencies to provide holistic support

The Ideal Horticulture Teacher

We welcome Horticulture Teacher applications from individuals who:

  • Hold QTS or QTLS or have a pathway to achieving this within 12 months
  • Horticulture Teacher experience in a UK setting
  • Have experience working with children or young people with behavioural and emotional needs (school-based experience desirable)
  • Are calm, patient, and able to de-escalate challenging situations effectively
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Are resilient, reflective, and committed to continuous professional development
  • Understand the importance of inclusion and safeguarding in education
