Healthcare Assistant-SEN Teaching Assistant Role-Harrow-PMLD Special Needs School-Full-Time-Feb Start
We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Healthcare Assistant to join a specialist school in Harrow as a Teaching Assistant, supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
This is a highly rewarding role that combines care and education, ideal for someone from a healthcare or care background who is passionate about supporting children and young people with complex medical, physical, and learning needs within a school environment.
You will be part of a warm, supportive, and multidisciplinary team focused on ensuring pupils feel safe, valued, and able to access meaningful learning experiences every day.
Healthcare Assistant Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including feeding, toileting, and hygiene support
- Support pupils with complex medical and physical needs
- Assist with moving and handling, including hoisting and positioning
- Work alongside the class teacher to support learning and sensory activities
- Support communication using visual aids, sensory strategies, and specialist resources
- Monitor pupils' wellbeing and report any concerns
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
