About the Learning Support Assistant Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

• Lead classes in the teacher\’s absence and direct Learning Support Assistant teams
• Support pupils using alternative communication methods (PECS, Makaton, AAC)
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social interaction
• Assist with personal care where required
• Create a safe, stimulating, and respectful learning environment

• Proven experience in SEND settings
• Knowledge of communication strategies and sensory integration approaches
• Calm, consistent, and adaptable approach
• Ability to motivate and inspire pupils\’ learning
