A highly regarded secondary school in Central London (Islington / Hackney) is seeking experienced Exam Invigilators to support the summer examination season. This school prefers to consider candidates with proven prior experience of exam invigilation experience in secondary schools. Applications will not be considered without this experience.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Proven previous experience as an Exam Invigilator in a secondary school
- Direct experience invigilating public examinations in line with JCQ exam guidelines
- A valid DBS certificate which will be registered on the Update Service (Reeson can assist with this).
- A strong understanding of exam room regulations, access arrangements, and malpractice procedures.
- The ability to follow instructions precisely and always maintain exam integrity
Candidates without prior secondary school exam invigilation experience will not be shortlisted.
AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS - MAY / JUNE
- Availability throughout May and June is essential
- Candidates must be able to commit to morning and/or afternoon exam sessions
- Flexibility during peak exam days will be strongly preferred
- Exact dates and session times will be confirmed in advance by the school.
- Hours are usually within 8am - 4.30pm
ABOUT THE ROLE - EXAM INVIGILATOR
As an Exam Invigilator, you will be responsible for:
- Supervising students during examinations in full compliance with JCQ regulations
- Ensuring all exam conditions are adhered to at all times
- Securely distributing and collecting examination materials
- Responding appropriately to incidents, disruptions, or student queries
- Maintaining a calm, professional, and authoritative presence throughout exams
- Working closely with the Exams Officer and school staff
