Overview

A Graduate Mentor is needed in a Mixed Secondary School & Sixth Form in South West London. This will be a full time long term Graduate Mentor position, with scope to go permanent. Working days and hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm. Immediate start. Excellent rates of pay. Enterprise & Science Specialist School. Opportunity for permanent employment and teacher training.

Responsibilities

  • Acting as a mentor for vulnerable students through effective role modelling, forming positive relationships and utilising creative approaches which provide them with the skills to be successful and happy
  • Providing targeted interventions and support to students within the key stage and contribute to the raising standards agenda
  • Encouraging and enabling students to become independent and resilient learners by providing one to one and small group coaching in academic related skills, wellbeing & self-management and emotional literacy

Salary

Duration and pay: between £82.14 to £100 a day, depending on the qualifications and experiences of each applicant.

An \’Outstanding\’ Secondary School & Sixth Form in the London Borough of Merton.

It is a mixed, 11 – 18, non-selective school with a wide demographic of pupils and staff. 90% of students stay in education or employment after Key Stage 4. The site has its own dedicated SEN Support Centre and a variety of sports facilities. Ofsted have noted there is positive culture of learning and a strong sense of community.

Requirements

You\’re welcome to apply to this Graduate Mentor position if you\’re a British trained Graduate Mentor or overseas trained Graduate Mentor.

All applicants must have the following in order to be considered for this position as a Graduate Mentor:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Clear and up to date Enhanced DBS
  • UK Bachelor\’s Degree or overseas equivalent
  • Experience of working with children/young people from the ages of 11 to 18 or as a Graduate Mentor in UK schools
