An Academic Mentor is needed in a Mixed Secondary School & Sixth Form in South East London. This Academic Mentor position can be part or full time and will be temporary in the first instance.
If appointed as an Academic Mentor your duties will include but not be limited to:
- Covering lessons and ensuring the set work is completed by pupils
- Promoting positive behaviour in the students and adhering to the school's behaviour policy
- Ensuring classrooms are left tidy after periods end and completed work by pupils is organised properly
The rates of pay for this Academic Mentor post will be between £99.75 to £116.55 a day, depending on the qualifications and experiences of each applicant.
The School: A 'Good' Non Selective Coeducational Academy located in the London Borough of Bexley. The school's history dates back to 2008. They have previously won a bronze, Green Apple Environmental Award. Personal Development plays a big part for students. There is guidance on careers, cultural days, educational school trips, regular PSHE lessons and a Student Council for all year groups. All pupils are encouraged to read daily and log activities related to Literacy.
Requirements: You're welcome to apply if you're a recent Graduate or experienced Academic Mentor. Applications are also welcome if you're a British trained Academic Mentor or overseas trained Academic Mentor. All applicants must have the following in order to be considered for this role as an Academic Mentor:
- Right to work in the UK
- Clear and up to date Enhanced DBS
- UK Bachelor's Degree or an overseas equivalent
- Experience of working with children/teenagers/young people or as an Academic Mentor in schools
