Finance and HR Assistant | Primary School | Term-Time Only | Immediate Start

Reeson Education is recruiting for an experienced Finance and HR Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Walthamstow, Waltham Forest. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous school-based finance and HR experience to play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of a busy, well-run school office.

The successful Finance and HR Assistant will work closely with the School Business Manager to ensure that both financial and HR administrative processes run efficiently and accurately.

Role Details for the Finance and HR Assistant:

  • Hours: 31.5 hours per week, term-time only (plus INSET days)

  • Pay: £13.69-£16.69 per hour (depending on experience)

  • Start Date: Immediate

  • Location: Leyton, Waltham Forest

Main Duties of a Finance and HR Assistant:

  • Support the processing of purchase orders, invoices, and payments using school finance systems

  • Assist with financial reporting, reconciliations, and budget monitoring

  • Maintain accurate financial and HR records in line with statutory and school policies

  • Support with staff payroll preparation and expense claims

  • Assist with recruitment administration, onboarding, and maintaining staff personnel files

  • Manage absence recording and assist with HR compliance and safer recruitment documentation

Requirements for the Finance and HR Assistant:

  • Experience working in a school finance or HR administration role is essential

  • Strong working knowledge of systems such as Arbor, FMS, or similar school MIS platforms

  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and communication skills

  • A professional, reliable, and discreet approach to handling sensitive information

  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a small, supportive office team
