SEN TA ASAP Start - Basildon Essex
Reeson Education are currently working with an "OUTSTANDING" primary school based in Basildon. The Headteacher of this amazing primary school is looking to onboard an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team of support staff at the school. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our pupils with special educational needs receive the support they need to achieve their full potential.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to provide support and assistance to pupils with special educational needs, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Assist with the planning and preparation of lessons and activities, ensuring that they are tailored to the individual needs of each pupil.
- Monitor and record the progress of pupils with special educational needs, and report back to teaching staff and parents/guardians as required.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils who require additional help with their learning.
- Help to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all pupils, and ensure that the school's policies and procedures are followed at all times.
- Liaise with external agencies and professionals as required, such as speech and language therapists, educational psychologists and social workers.
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required, and keep up to date with relevant legislation and guidance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant qualifications and experience working with pupils with special educational needs are desirable, but not essential.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy and a positive attitude towards working with pupils who may have complex needs.
- A willingness to undertake further training and professional development as required.
