Sports Teaching Assistant required in Islington to support the delivery of PE and Sports for Secondary students with ADHD, behaviour, and mental health needs. Pay is negotiable.

The TA for Sports will lead and support PE lessons, teaching a wide range of learning needs throughout the school, taking classes of secondary-aged pupils. Pupils have special needs, so a talented coach is required to adapt lessons and be flexible and creative in lesson plans for Physical Education.
You will be teaching Sports, Movement, and the Physical Education Curriculum designed for students who have barriers to learning, many of whom may have been excluded from their previous school for poor behaviour. You will encourage students to explore their sporting skills while emphasising soft skills in Sports such as Team Work and Discipline, which could help these students in their wider schooling.
You must be a positive and energetic leader, able to engage with children and form positive relationships. You should be a role model who can provide good guidance to these young people and work towards more positive outcomes in their studies.
This school is located in Barking with excellent transport links. They provide education to children between the ages of 4 - 16 years with complex special needs including Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties, and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. The team works together to provide students with a safe and secure learning environment, managing behaviour effectively, and students have made above-average progress in the last year.
The facilities at this school are excellent, including sensory rooms and a hydrotherapy swimming pool.
