Responsibilities of this Nursery Teacher role:
- Stay up to date with educational research and policies through training, workshops, and reading, while actively implementing all school and local authority initiatives.
- Promote a positive school culture by modelling excellent teaching practice, motivating staff, and representing the school in meetings with governors and external networks.
- Plan and deliver a high-quality, engaging, and inclusive EYFS curriculum that supports children's early development across the prime and specific areas of learning.
- Monitor pupil progress closely, using assessment observations and EYFS frameworks to identify and implement effective interventions that support communication, language, personal development, and early literacy and numeracy skills.
- Create a nurturing, stimulating, and safe learning environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, independence, and positive behaviour for learning.
- Support children's social, emotional, and academic development through play-based and child-centred learning experiences.
- Collaborate regularly with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support individual learning needs and communicate pupil progress and curriculum developments.
The Ideal Candidate for this Nursery Teacher role will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - Essential
- Have experience teaching within EYFS
- Have strong knowledge of the EYFS Framework, including early phonics and child development
- Be committed to delivering engaging, inclusive learning experiences that inspire young learners
- Show excellent classroom and behaviour management
- Be a team player with a reflective, proactive approach
- Demonstrate a nurturing and creative teaching style
