Are you a dedicated and compassionate Autism Specialist Teacher who can provide structure, consistency, and personalised support to pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)? Reeson Education are recruiting a skilled Autism Specialist Teacher for a supportive and inclusive school in Rotherham (S66) starting from September 2026. This role is ideal for a resilient and adaptable professional who is passionate about helping autistic pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

About the Autism Specialist Teacher Role:

  • Specialist Teaching: Deliver engaging lessons adapted to meet the individual needs of pupils with Autism.
  • Structured Learning Environment: Maintain clear routines, visual supports, and predictable classroom expectations.
  • Communication & Interaction Support: Use autism-friendly strategies to develop communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation skills.
  • Progress Monitoring: Assess and track academic, social, and emotional progress, adapting support where necessary.
  • Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work closely with support staff, parents, therapists, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure positive outcomes for pupils.

To succeed as an Autism Specialist Teacher, you will need:

  • Proven experience working with pupils with Autism within SEN, specialist, or mainstream educational settings.
  • Strong understanding of autism-specific teaching strategies and approaches.
  • Excellent communication, patience, and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to create a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment.
  • A flexible, resilient, and child-centred approach to teaching.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply through Reeson Education.
