The Role

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), communication difficulties, and sensory needs.

  • Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Assist with communication aids, sensory-based learning, and behaviour strategies.
  • Create a nurturing and safe environment where every child feels valued and understood.

  • Experienced in supporting pupils with SEN (Autism, speech & language, or SEMH experience desirable).
  • Calm, empathetic, and resilient with a positive attitude.
  • Able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Knowledgeable in strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or TEACCH (training available).
  • A team player who believes in inclusion and personalised learning.
