Reeson Education are supporting a secondary school in Sutton who require a Science Teacher on a full-time basis from September 2026. The Principal is looking to invite an enthusiastic Science Teacher with vision and expertise to join the school's dynamic Science department.

The Role:

The Science Teacher will be responsible for providing a friendly, stimulating, and inclusive environment in which every student can develop academically, socially and personally. The successful candidate will be responsible for academic progress and must:

  • Ensure that students are taught in line with the most up to date examination specification.
  • Adhere to the department mental schemes of work.
  • Keep records of student's attendance in lessons via SIMS.
  • Follow the guidelines for high quality teaching as defined in the Staff Handbook.
  • Set, mark, and assess work as stated in the staff handbook.
  • Use resources; check student files; provide learning support; use ICT; follow health and safety procedures.
  • Manage the classroom as defined in the school's classroom management and behaviour policy.
  • Attend in-service training and classroom observation plus feedback sessions as requested by the Head of Department.

The successful candidate will inspire pupils to have a passion for the subject and to ensure Science is a vibrant subject within the school community. The successful candidate will be:

  • Experienced teaching Science to KS3/4.
  • An excellent classroom practitioner offering high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Able to create and lead subject development and be experienced in supporting other staff to enhance teaching and learning.
