This rewarding opportunity involves teaching a Year 1 class of 9 pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), who are pre-verbal and have high sensory and communication needs. The class benefits from exceptional support, with a team of 4 experienced Teaching Assistants working alongside the class teacher.
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the class, including planning, preparing, delivering and assessing lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils. You will create a nurturing, structured, and engaging learning environment that enables every child to make progress academically, socially, and emotionally. Working closely with therapists, support staff, and families, you will develop personalised learning programmes and monitor progress through ongoing assessment and review.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual EHCP outcomes
- Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress, adapting learning accordingly
- Lead a team of 4 Teaching Assistants to ensure high-quality support across the classroom

- Work collaboratively with therapists, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Support pupils' communication, social development, and independence
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
