1.1 LSA: Westminister Location: Borough of Westminster, close to Victoria Station outside of a school environment Hours: 25 hours a week (part time) term time only Pay: £25 – £30 per hour We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and creative 1.1 LSA to support a 11-year-old autistic child with ASD, SEMH needs. This is is a unique and rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child\’s life by creating a positive, playful, and responsive learning environment. You will be working one-to-one with the young person, primarily within a home and school as well based in Westminister and West London. 1.1 LSA Role: Based in Westminster, in a non-school setting for some of the time, this part time 1.1 LSA role will involve assisting the lead tutor and teachers in delivering the bespoke curriculum that will be delivered to the student. It will be essential to ensure the tuto has strong behaviour management skills. 1.1 LSA Key Responsibilities: Work with the lead tutor to assist in delivering a bespoke curriculum based on Neuro affirming strategies and low arousal techniques Build trust and emotional safety by attuning to the YP\’s pace and preferences Use playful, non-directive methods to support learning and engagement Respect and support the YP\’s independence while remaining available to step in before overwhelm Avoid direct instructions Identify and anticipate sensory and emotional triggers Encourage initiation, allow time for processing, and offer flexible choices Promote emotional regulation through calm and consistent presence Interpret behaviour as communication, not opposition Be willing to accompany the YP to safe and familiar places that support well being and learning Essential Qualities: Calm, emotionally regulated, and reflective Experience working with autistic children or children with complex SEN Comfortable using indirect language and creative teaching approaches Able to work beside or slightly behind the child, not in a confrontational or authoritative position Reeson Education: Reeson Education is England\’s Premier Recruitment Agency.
