A Maths Learning Support Assistant is needed in a Roman Catholic Sixth Form College in South West London. This will be a full time long term position with scope to go permanent. Working days and hours will be Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Supporting SEN students in Maths classes
- Working with the teachers to ensure each student's learning needs are identified
- Attending to students' social, emotional and personal needs when required
- Supporting behaviour management and using appropriate strategies in line with academy policy
- Undertaking learning activities/teaching programmes when needed
The rates of pay will be between £85.50 to £124.87 a day, depending on the qualifications and experiences of each applicant.
The School is a Mixed Roman Catholic Sixth Form College for pupils aged 16 to 19 years old located in the London Borough of Wandsworth. It was established in 1985 and currently offers A Level, Diploma, IB and Adult Education courses. There is an excellent pastoral care system in place at the school with each student having a Personal Tutor to assist them, along with their subject teachers. The site also has a Chapel and Prayer room for those of a religious background. Staff are extremely satisfied when it comes to working at the college.
Requirements: Applications are welcome if you're a recent Maths Graduate or experienced Maths Learning Support Assistant. You're also welcome to apply if you're a British trained or overseas trained Maths Learning Support Assistant. All applicants must have the following in order to be considered for this post:
- Right to work in the UK
- Clear and up to date Enhanced DBS
- UK Bachelor's Degree in Maths or overseas equivalent
- Experience of working with children/teenagers or as a Maths Learning Support Assistant in UK schools
