Production Engineer – Oldham – 40,000 – 50,000 (Days)
I am currently recruiting a Production Engineer / Project Engineer for a major manufacture based in Manchester. They are at the forefront of innovation and driving excellence in their industry and are dedicated to delivering high-quality products and continuously improving our processes to meet evolving customer demands.
As such I am seeking a proactive Production Engineer to lead small-to-medium projects aimed at optimizing their production lines, developing custom tooling, and supporting new product launches. If you have hands-on experience in manufacturing environments and a knack for turning ideas into tangible results, this role is perfect for you.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage small-to-medium production engineering projects, including line modifications, tooling enhancements, and equipment fabrication.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product development and ensure smooth integration into production lines.
- Design, prototype, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
- Oversee the development and commissioning of custom tooling and equipment.
- Work closely with maintenance and operations teams to troubleshoot issues and implement long-term solutions.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including scopes, schedules, budgets, and technical specifications.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards in all projects.
Requirements:
- HNC / HND / City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Hands-on experience in a production/manufacturing environment, with a focus on project execution and process improvement.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment design.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and project management tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
