Process Engineer Design & Build - Breweries, Distilleries & Beverage Production
I am recruiting a Process Engineer for a specialist engineering consultancy that designs, engineers and delivers complete brewery, distillery and beverage manufacturing facilities across the UK and internationally. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that supports clients from concept through to commissioning, working on state-of-the-art production sites and process equipment.
You will be involved in developing process designs, producing PFDs and P&IDs, performing mass and energy balances, selecting equipment, and supporting installation and commissioning activities.
Typical equipment and process areas include:
- Fermentation vessels
- Brewhouses / mash tuns / lauter tuns
- Distillation columns
- Mixing and blending systems
- CIP systems
- Filtration and separation equipment
- Packaging lines and utilities
Key responsibilities
- Process design from concept through detailed design
- Producing process documentation (PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets)
- Equipment specification and vendor liaison
- Supporting HAZOPs and design reviews
- Providing commissioning and start-up support on client sites
- Working closely with mechanical, electrical and automation teams
Ideal candidate
- Degree-qualified Process/Chemical Engineer (or similar)
- Experience in breweries, distilleries, beverage manufacturing, dairy or food & drink process environments
- Familiar with hygienic process design and relevant industry standards
- Strong understanding of fermentation, distillation or liquid processing
- Experience with project engineering and/or commissioning is highly desirable
- Passion for the beverage industry and modern production technology
