Rees Parent and Child Fostering is a growing Independent Fostering Agency specialising in Parent and Child placements. We are looking for a Supervising Social Worker to join our team at an exciting stage of development.

About the role

  • Small caseload (typically up to 7 foster families)
  • Flexible hybrid working
  • Part-time options considered
  • This is a role where you can focus on quality over quantity.

You will support and develop foster carers to provide safe, structured and nurturing parent and child placements, with the time to build meaningful relationships and deliver reflective practice. In the early stages, you may support carers across the Midlands. Travel is planned and managed, with the aim of developing a more localised model as the service grows.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing regular supervision, guidance and support to foster carers
  • Visiting placements to ensure children's safety and wellbeing
  • Supporting carers to provide safe and effective Parent and Child placements
  • Contributing to Form F assessments where required
  • Completing annual reviews and statutory visits
  • Preparing clear, analytical reports for panels and reviews
  • Supporting delivery of training and foster carer development
  • Facilitating or contributing to support groups
  • Working in partnership with local authorities and professionals
  • Promoting strong safeguarding practice at all times
  • Contributing to the development of a high quality, reflective service

You will also take part in a shared out of hours rota, with appropriate support and allowance.

About you

  • Qualified Social Worker (Social Work England registered)
  • Has experience as a Supervising Social Worker in fostering
  • Confident supporting and developing foster carers
  • Knowledgeable in safeguarding, child development and parenting capacity
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Compassionate, reflective and child focused in your practice
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is required

  • Salary: £38,000 to £42,000 depending on experience
