We are looking for a skilled Technician for our Food Technology department, who will ensure our teaching kitchens and equipment operate at a professional standard, providing the foundation for our pupils to succeed.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the food room for lessons, food demonstrations and science investigations.
- Support introductory sessions and assist with the complex requirements of GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition to ensure every lesson is safe, organised, and inspiring.
- Procure fresh ingredients and manage stock to ensure value for money; maintain an accurate inventory and ensure all equipment is ready for teacher demonstrations and student practicals.
- Provide technical guidance to students to help them master cooking techniques while maintaining high hygiene standards.
- Ensure safety and compliance by adhering to CLEAPSS and Food Standards Agency guidelines.
- Manage cleaning schedules and monitor food storage to maintain a safe, professional workspace.
Additional Information
There is also the opportunity to deliver 2.5 hours of KS5 (College Students) Enrichment lessons at Instructor Rate delivering "Cooking on a Budget".
