We are seeking a focused and diligent QA/QC Engineer to be an integral part of our Aluminium industry project in the Middle East. With a strong foundation in mechanical engineering, and an appreciation for electrical systems, the successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and approving Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and other project related quality documents, overseeing the quality of local fabrication, and ensuring the quality of construction throughout the project execution.
Responsibilities
- Review, approve, and oversee the implementation of fabrication and construction Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) in accordance with project and industry standards.
- Conduct rigorous quality inspections and audits on local fabrication processes to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
- Collaborate closely with fabrication shops to address and rectify any quality-related issues promptly.
- Establish and maintain quality standards for the construction phase of the project, ensuring that construction activities meet project specifications and standards.
- Lead and coordinate the QA/QC inspections for all stages of the project, assuring the quality of workmanship and materials.
- Streamline communication between project management, engineering, and construction teams to uphold quality objectives.
- Monitor and verify the quality of all manufactured goods.
- Facilitate the correction of non-conformance issues and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
- Ensure quality documentation is maintained accurately and prepare quality reports for project management review.
- Act as the main point of contact for all QA/QC matters related to local fabrication and construction quality, providing guidance and support to the project team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, with Electrical Engineering knowledge considered advantageous.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in QA/QC, particularly with a focus on construction and fabrication within industrial sectors.
- Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or equivalent certification in Quality Management; substantial experience with ITPs.
- Comfortable with the interpretation of engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Awareness of quality control practices, standards, and compliance requirements specific to the Aluminium industry.
- Experience with regulatory compliance and adherence to international standards such as ISO 9001 or comparable.
