We’re looking for talented book editors to help authors bring their books to life. We welcome experienced professionals in editorial assessment, developmental editing, copy editing, proofreading, query letter review, or book coaching.

As a freelance editor on Reedsy, you\'ll collaborate directly with authors in the genres of your choice. Besides delivering work that meets a high professional standard, you\'ll be expected to understand your client\'s needs and guide them through the editing process with your knowledge of the industry and their genre.

To maintain the quality of work on our platform, we carefully vet every professional before they join. If approved, you\'ll become visible to thousands of authors seeking top-tier editors and coaches. From there, you’ll start receiving project requests tailored to your skills and preferences.

You will choose which projects to take on, set your own rates, and manage your availability for new work. We automatically handle contracts and payments so you can stay focused on your craft.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of editing experience.
  • Experience working with traditional publishers.
  • Demonstrated experience on at least 5 published books that are well reviewed (and available on Amazon, Google Play or Apple Books).

Experience working for a renowned publishing company or a history of high-quality work with a bestselling author/book will be positively valued.
