Reed's School is a fantastic place to work. Teachers and pupils alike flourish in its friendly, supportive, forward-thinking community.

It is a leading HMC independent day and boarding school, currently providing an education for around 850 pupils between the ages of 11 and 18 years, with girls joining in the Sixth Form. From September 2027 the School will move to becoming fully co-educational by accepting girls in Year 7.

We are excited to be recruiting for an enthusiastic Teacher of French to join our thriving and highly successful MFL Department. The candidate appointed will have excellent subject knowledge and a desire to be part of a team of committed professionals within the MFL Department and the whole school. The ability to teach French up to A level is essential.

The closing date for applications will be midday, Monday 21 September 2026.

Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The School may carry out online searches on shortlisted applicants and all applicants will be required to provide details of their online profile, including social media account names/handles, as part of their application.

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
