Athletic Development Coach - Cobham, Surrey

Job Type: Self-Employed - Fixed Term (Required From November 2026)

Reed’s School is a fantastic place to work. Teachers and pupils alike flourish in its friendly, supportive, forward-thinking community. It is a leading HMC independent day and boarding school, currently providing an education for around 850 pupils between the ages of 11 and 18 years, with girls joining in the Sixth Form. From September 2027 they will move to becoming fully co-educational by accepting girls in Year 7.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and highly motivated Athletic Development Coach to support the Athletic Development Department in delivering high-quality strength and conditioning and sports coaching provision across the School.

The successful candidate will work with Sports Scholars aged 11-18, delivering coaching sessions, athletic development programmes, and physical literacy education throughout the school day. The candidate will ideally have experience in coaching at least one of the school’s major team sports: Rugby, Hockey, Netball, or Cricket, or Academy sports: Swimming, Tennis, Ski-Racing, and Golf.

Coaching delivery will take place before school, during curriculum time, at lunchtimes, and after school, as agreed upon at the start of the contract.

The closing date for applications will be midday on Friday 23rd of October 2026.

For Safer Recruitment purposes all applicants must complete a Reed’s School application form.

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The School may carry out online searches on shortlisted applicants, and all applicants will be required to provide details of their online profile, including social media account names/handles, as part of their application.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions on a self-declaration form in advance of attending an interview (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
