Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of young people and help build safer communities?
We’re looking for a passionate Youth Justice Practitioner to join our multi-agency team supporting children and young people in the youth justice system. This role focuses on prevention, rehabilitation, and restorative, trauma-informed approaches.

Pay Rate: £19.11 per hour
Duration: 6 to 9 months (temporary assignment)
Location: M32 postcode area
Working Hours: Includes evenings and weekends as required
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise young people under prevention, diversion, bail support, and statutory orders
- Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments
- Represent Youth Justice in court with written and verbal reports
- Deliver tailored interventions (1:1 and group)
- Support reintegration after custody
- Work with families, victims, and partner agencies
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to service development
- Act as Appropriate Adult during police interviews
- Participate in duty rotas and team meetings
What We’re Looking For
A compassionate, motivated professional with:
- Strong communication and advocacy skills
- Ability to engage and motivate young people
- Experience in youth justice, social care, education, or similar
- Knowledge of safeguarding, legislation, and risk management
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and reducing disproportionality
Qualifications
One of the following:
- DipSW / Diploma in Youth and Community Work
- PGCE / Diploma in Probation Studies
- NVQ-Level 4 in Community or Youth Justice
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
Additional Requirements
- Enhanced DBS
- Full driving licence and access to a car
- Willingness to travel and work evenings/weekends on a rota.
