Yard Operative
- Location:Â Edinburgh, Leith
- Job Type:Â Full-time, Permanent
- Salary: £15 per hour
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading company in the logistics sector, based in Leith, for a dedicated Yard Operative. This role involves managing day-to-day operations in the yard, including handling orders, inspecting goods, and maintaining a tidy and safe environment. Occasional travel to client sites and suppliers across the UK may be required. This position offers significant opportunities for growth within a dynamic and expanding organisation.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage day-to-day operations in the yard.
- Pick orders for outgoing shipments and receive incoming orders.
- Inspect returned goods for any issues.
- Maintain the yard in a tidy and safe manner.
- Assist in quarterly inventory checks.
- Load and unload containers and trucks efficiently.
- Report directly to the Warehouse & Logistics Manager.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Valid driving license.
- Forklift license.
- Proven experience in health and safety practices.
- Proficiency with computers.
- Open-minded and eager to learn new skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Random Drug Testing will be mandatory
