My client, based in West Drayton, are seeking an experienced Warehouse Operator with a minimum of 5 years in warehouse operations. The ideal candidate should possess basic knowledge of freight forwarding and have hands-on experience in various warehouse activities, including inbound/outbound operations, pick-pack, and piece picking. The role involves working collaboratively with the team to ensure efficient receipt, storage, value-added services, and dispatch of a diverse range of products. Candidates should ideally reside in or near West Drayton or the Heathrow area, be enthusiastic, and eager to learn.
Permanent Position.
Hours: 9am - 5pm with one hour lunch break.
Salary: £24,000 - £26,000.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage goods receiving, warehousing, distribution, pick-pack, and piece picking operations.
- Implement and enforce optimal warehouse operational policies and procedures.
- Maintain high standards of health & safety, hygiene, and security.
- Participate in stock control and reconcile with data storage systems.
- Communicate effectively with the warehouse manager and operations team.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and transport companies.
- Handle the creation of files, documents, and invoices.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a warehouse operator.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in warehouse operations and stock management.
- Good knowledge of logistics, shipping lines, airlines, and hauliers.
- Punctual, quick learner, and willing to learn all aspects of the operation.
- Demonstrate high levels of work efficiency and accuracy.
- Team player with strong cooperation skills.
- Forklift license is advantageous but not essential.
- Professional communication skills (fluent in English: reading, writing, speaking, polite telephone manner, and emails).
