Are you in a management position, fully qualified ACCA/ACA or equivalent, or perhaps you have proven success in a financial leadership role without qualifying?

Reed Practice have been enlisted to seek those who would answer “yes” to these questions, for a Financial Controller to manage the internal finance function of a regional chartered accountancy firm, based at their Norfolk head office located within an easy commute to Wisbech.Â
The Financial Controller will be a fundamental part of the firm, supporting the business through running an efficient team, overseeing the internal accounting operations and ensuring effective processes are in place and compliance is adhered to.
Working with and reporting to the Partners, you will be supported by a small but high calibre finance team, with your responsibilities involving (but not limited to) –
- Acting as finance business partner to the firm, reporting on key performance indicators.
- Prepare the limited company management accounts for presentation to the leadership team.
- Monitoring and forecasting the firm’s cashflow.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns for the company and associated businesses.
- Obtain relevant data from said cashflow for financial analysis and reports as and when required.
- Support the finance team with the preparation of the financial statements.Â
- Prepare and present CT61 returns when required.
- Monitor and report KPI's.
- Support the Managing Partner in creating budgets and forecasts.
- Payroll and Pension – processing payroll for the firm, including all calculations; administering employee pension scheme, continually maintaining accurate information for starters, leavers, contribution rates and completing the year end process.
- Compliance and company management – partnering with the Practice Manager to plan and complete tasks associated with preparing the annual return.

With this in mind we are seeking a certain level of experience and traits. This includes:
- ACCA, ACA or equivalent qualification. Those with proven success in a similar role without qualifications will also be considered.
- Proven success in a management position in an accounting team.
- Superior knowledge of a wide range of accounting software.

- Greatly honed communication and people skills, an ability to motivate and inspire team members as a sound mentor.
