SEND Tutor (Part-Time)

  • Hourly Rate: £30 - £35

Reed Tutors collaborates with various learning authorities to provide alternative provision through 1:1 tutoring for students outside formal education settings.

We are currently seeking a SEND Tutor with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to deliver personalised tutoring and mentoring to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in Gloucestershire. This role focuses on supporting students in core subjects to foster both academic and personal growth.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in core subjects tailored to the student's individual needs and abilities.
  • Implement educational strategies and techniques during tutoring sessions to meet the specific needs of the student with SEN.
  • Monitor and assess the student's progress, adapting teaching methods to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to support the student's overall development and confidence.
  • Collaborate with parents or guardians to keep them informed about the student’s progress and any recommendations for further development.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in tutoring or teaching primary school students, particularly those with SEND.
  • Strong understanding of the primary or secondary curriculums and the ability to adapt it to students with diverse educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of motivating and building rapport with students.
  • Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for teaching and mentorship.
  • PGCE with QTS or considerable teaching/tutoring experience.
