We are seeking a Regional Resource Manager to join our clients team. You will be pivotal in ensuring that the correct level of driver and vehicle resources are in place at all terminals in your region. This role requires a proactive approach to resource planning and management, ensuring efficiency and high levels of customer service.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Maintain short, medium, and long-term awareness of the resource requirements in your region.
  • Keep accurate records of resource allocation and provide regular updates to the Head of Department on resource management performance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve resource utilisation.
  • Ensure correct resource levels are maintained to meet client demands.
  • Liaise daily with planners to adjust resources as needed to maximise efficiency while maintaining the highest levels of customer service.
  • Authorise all drivers' holiday and other absence requests.
  • Plan 4 weeks in advance to cover any driver resource shortfalls through local overtime, drivers' relocation, cross-contracting, booking agency resources, and subcontractors.
  • Engage with clients to provide updates on upcoming resource provision.
  • Develop strong working relationships with planners and drivers to maximise the benefits of those relationships.
  • Act as duty manager on a rota basis, managing operational issues and resolving resource shortfalls.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in resource management or relevant planning.
  • Regular engagement with drivers.
  • Knowledge of ATOSS is beneficial but not essential.
  • Must hold a valid UK driving licence.
  • Reside within a commutable distance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
