We are seeking a Transport Manager to work with our client to oversee the full delivery and performance of transport contracts within a specific region. This pivotal role involves developing strong, collaborative relationships with procurement officers and other stakeholders, and representing the business with integrity and professionalism.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Oversee the full delivery and performance of transport contracts within the area.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with procurement officers and other stakeholders.
- Represent the business in meetings, reviews, and consultations, presenting performance data and service improvements.
- Lead and support the preparation and submission of tenders, Dynamic Purchasing Systems (DPS), and framework agreements.
- Manage and deliver contracted transport services, ensuring they meet agreed KPIs and align with regulatory and legal standards.
- Oversee the planning and optimisation of transport routes, ensuring safety, cost-effectiveness, and service continuity.
- Actively seek opportunities to improve systems, processes, and service quality, contributing to business growth and innovation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and internal standards, preparing for audits and compliance reviews.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Significant experience in transport operations management.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a natural ability to build trust and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Strong written communication skills, with experience in producing tenders, reports, and correspondence.
- Organised and adaptable, able to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
