Our client seeks a Technical Officer at Aldine House Secure Children’s Home. This role is crucial for the efficient and effective management of the premises, ensuring safety and functionality through meticulous maintenance and oversight.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Conduct daily checks and monitor systems such as CCTV, door alarms, and communication equipment.
- Operate and maintain essential plant equipment including heating, air conditioning, and generators.
- Undertake maintenance tasks including glazing, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
- Perform regular safety tests such as legionella testing and maintain detailed records of inspections, faults, and maintenance activities.
- Liaise with internal departments and external contractors to initiate and oversee repair works.
- Support the training of staff in safety and building management issues and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in building construction technology or property/premises management.
- Strong technical knowledge of security systems and heating/cooling plants.
- Ability to analyse technical information and make informed decisions.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations, COSHH, and relevant policies and legislation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to plan and manage workloads effectively.
- Proficient in IT and Microsoft Office, with strong organizational skills to maintain logs and records.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with both internal teams and external contractors.
