Join our dedicated team in Essex as a Social Worker, focusing on both public and private law related to family court proceedings. This role is essential in providing advanced social work-level services to children, families, and courts, ensuring the well-being and safety of children throughout the process. The position requires flexibility and the ability to manage a fast-paced workload effectively.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Assess and analyse court applications for child protection and serious welfare issues.
  • Influence those with parental responsibility to focus more on the child’s needs and advise courts and local authorities on safeguarding concerns.
  • Support judicial case management and ensure the child’s voice is heard in the court arena.
  • Engage in high-quality direct work with children and their families.
  • Maintain high throughput of outstanding casework, ensuring all work is rated good or outstanding.
  • Work flexibly around the service area, attending court, meeting children in person, and participating in office meetings and learning opportunities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Social Work (or equivalent recognised by Social Work England).
  • Minimum of three years post-qualifying experience in social work with children and families at risk.
  • Demonstrated skills in assessment, case analysis, and effective communication with children and families.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Competent use of IT and electronic systems for case planning and recording.
  • Must have access to transport for visiting families across Essex.
