Job Description

Reed Practice is recruiting for a Senior Accounts Manager on behalf of a well-established accounting firm based in Reading.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and qualified accounting professional to step into a senior leadership role within a dynamic and client-focused practice. The firm works with a broad portfolio of SMEs, offering high-quality compliance and advisory services.

The Role

As a Senior Accounts Manager, you will:

  • Oversee a portfolio of clients, managing the preparation and review of statutory accounts, management accounts, VAT returns, and corporation tax computations
  • Lead and mentor a team of accountants, reviewing work and supporting their development
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing strategic advice and maintaining strong relationships
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal quality controls
  • Support partners with workflow planning, client onboarding, and business development initiatives
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and client service delivery

About You

You are a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with:

  • Significant experience in a UK accountancy practice
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS 102, and tax compliance
  • Proven leadership skills and experience managing a team
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities
  • A proactive, organised, and commercially minded approach
  • Comfort working in a hybrid environment, with flexibility between office and remote work
