Join our team at an alternative SEMH provision in King\’s Lynn, dedicated to supporting vulnerable young people transition and re‑engage into mainstream education or employment. We are seeking a PSHE Teacher who is passionate about making a difference and helping students realise their full potential. This role includes a pastoral/link aspect and may require covering Humanities subjects.
Our Approach
Our approach emphasises transition and re‑engagement back into mainstream education or employment. We support this through:
- Small group settings and one‑to‑one delivery models.
- Developing positive relationships with each young person, their families, and support agencies.
- Focusing on helping young people achieve academic and vocational targets.
Day‑to‑day of the role
- Deliver engaging and effective PSHE lessons tailored to the needs of vulnerable young people.
- Actively participate in the pastoral care of students, providing guidance and support.
- Work closely with other staff to integrate PSHE with other curricula and cover Humanities when required.
- Maintain a supportive, inclusive, and motivating environment conducive to learning and personal growth.
- Monitor and report on the progress of students, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in teaching PSHE or related fields, preferably in an SEMH setting.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable young people.
- Ability to engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and with varied needs.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with families and support agencies.
- Flexibility to adapt teaching methods and cover additional subjects as needed.
