Reed Education is dedicated to providing Whole School Recruitment to Secondary Schools across Cumbria & Lancashire. We are currently seeking a dynamic English Teacher to join a school in Wyre & Fylde on a long-term basis, starting immediately. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of the curriculum, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to creating an engaging learning environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Deliver engaging and informative English lessons to students at KS3 and KS4 levels; experience with KS5 is advantageous.
- Utilise strong subject knowledge to enhance student learning and academic performance.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain a conducive learning environment.
- Regularly assess and evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with other teaching staff to plan and coordinate lessons.
- Participate in school meetings and events, and contribute to the school community.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Recent and relevant experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 levels; KS5 experience is beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to be an excellent classroom practitioner with robust classroom management skills.
- Reliable, committed, and capable of acting as a good role model for students.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with attributes of compassion, trustworthiness, politeness, and good listening skills.
- Must be punctual, patient, and confident when working with children.
