Reed Education is dedicated to providing Whole School Recruitment to Secondary Schools across Cumbria & Lancashire. We are currently seeking a dynamic English Teacher to join a school in Wyre & Fylde on a long-term basis, starting immediately. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of the curriculum, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to creating an engaging learning environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver engaging and informative English lessons to students at KS3 and KS4 levels; experience with KS5 is advantageous.
  • Utilise strong subject knowledge to enhance student learning and academic performance.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain a conducive learning environment.
  • Regularly assess and evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with other teaching staff to plan and coordinate lessons.
  • Participate in school meetings and events, and contribute to the school community.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Recent and relevant experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 levels; KS5 experience is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated ability to be an excellent classroom practitioner with robust classroom management skills.
  • Reliable, committed, and capable of acting as a good role model for students.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with attributes of compassion, trustworthiness, politeness, and good listening skills.
  • Must be punctual, patient, and confident when working with children.
