Due to continued growth, strong client base and increasing pipeline of work, we are looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor within a successful specialist sub-contract company.
Working with a good team in the Commercial department, the role will involve:
- Liaising with Contracts Managers regarding any potential disputes or disruption on projects.
- Reviewing sub-contract documentation for any differences between tender and quoting, highlighting clauses that will need investigation or amendment.
- Assisting with preparing final accounts, substantiation and any contract notices required.
- Liaising with Main contractors regarding instructions and variations for works.
- Assisting estimating team with pricing variations and guidance when complying with tender enquiries.
For this role, the client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor, ideally from a subcontractor background. You will be well organised, process driven, good at reviewing contracts and being able to present and at times negotiate with tier 1 and 2 contractors. A good understanding of JCT D&B contracts and knowledge of construction law and principles, with some exposure to NEC contracts would be beneficial.
You will likely have a qualification in Quantity Surveying; you must have a driving licence as some visits to projects across England will be necessary at times.
