We are seeking a Project Engineer with a focus on Automation to join our clients innovative team. This role involves the engineering, design, integration, testing, and commissioning of automation projects across various stages of the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SCADA and Automation sectors, particularly within the LV/MV/HV Electricity Transmission & Distribution Industry.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Interpret client requirements to design, engineer, integrate, test, and deliver solutions professionally and timely.
  • Interface with customers on all technical elements and schedules.
  • Produce and agree on specifications/drawings with customers.
  • Drive projects to achieve 'on-time' delivery within budget constraints.
  • Engage with subcontractors and external suppliers for project delivery.
  • Comply with the company's QHSE procedures and responsibilities.
  • Design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems.
  • Prepare project documentation including design specifications, factory and site acceptance tests, and operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Participate in project meetings and assist in scheduling activities.
  • Undertake site installations and commissioning activities as necessary.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • ONC/HNC in Electrical/Electronic/Software Engineering, or a related subject.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects within Automation sector.
  • Experience in implementation using PLC logic.
  • Configuration experience with Zenon HMI software is advantageous.
  • Understanding of substation protection schemes, relays, and their operation is desirable.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK for site testing and commissioning work.
