?? About the Role
As a Project Accountant within our Major Infrastructure Delivery team, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring financial governance, control compliance, and insightful reporting across a high-profile portfolio. You’ll be instrumental in setting up and embedding finance processes for a newly formed £400m programme, supporting both CAPEX and OPEX delivery.
This is a unique opportunity to help build a new delivery vehicle from the ground up, influence how finance enables project success, and work with cutting-edge tools including SAP S4/HANA .
?? Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting across major infrastructure projects.
- Ensure robust financial controls and compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
- Deliver insightful management reporting and performance analysis to senior stakeholders.
- Partner with project teams to align financials with delivery plans and regulatory requirements.
- Champion automation, digital tools, and continuous improvement in financial processes.
- Support audits, variance analysis, and scenario modelling to drive informed decision-making.
? What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Proven experience in project or management accounting , ideally within infrastructure, utilities, or engineering.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP S4/HANA and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
