Temporary Production Planner (3–6 Months) – Location: Colchester | Job Type: Temporary Contract (3–6 Months), Full-Time | Pay Rate: £35,000 equivalent (pro rata)
We are currently seeking a skilled Production Planner for a temporary assignment lasting between 3 to 6 months. This role is vital for planning and scheduling production activities within one of the three assigned areas: Manufacturing, Assembly, or Non-Standard Planning. The ideal candidate will have essential experience with Dynamics AX and be able to hit the ground running in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Maintain Production Schedules: Create and manage detailed schedules for assigned areas to ensure timely and efficient production.
- Coordinate with Production Teams: Communicate schedules, address issues, and ensure adherence to plans.
- Monitor Production Progress: Track execution, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions.
- Balance Workload and Capacity: Optimize labour, equipment, and capacity to meet production goals.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain: Confirm material availability and align production plans with supply flow.
- Resolve Production Issues: Troubleshoot issues such as machine breakdowns or material shortages.
- Analyse Production Data: Review metrics, identify improvements, and implement adjustments.
- Implement Process Improvements: Support initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Document schedule changes and report outcomes.
- Cross-Department Communication: Liaise with logistics, quality control, and engineering teams.
- Proven experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing setting.
- Strong working knowledge of Dynamics AX (essential).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve production issues effectively.
- Experience using MRP/ERP systems for planning and tracking.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in managing schedules and data.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Understanding of inventory and supply chain coordination.
