Role Overview
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and proactive Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant primary school community in Winchester. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting children's learning and development across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
Responsibilities
- Support pupils in accessing the curriculum through one-to-one and small group interventions.
- Assist the class teacher in lesson delivery, classroom management, and preparation of learning materials.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages pupil engagement.
- Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Supervise pupils during break times, school trips, and extracurricular activities.
- Promote respectful behaviour and support emotional wellbeing.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting (voluntary or paid).
- Knowledge of SEND and strategies to support diverse learning needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach.
- A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 TA Certificate) is desirable but not essential.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
